currently holds the positions of Founding Director to the Penn-in-India program, Chair of Language operations at the American Institute of Indian Studies, and Chair of a national project on reading proficiency sponsored by National Foreign Language Center in Washington D.C. Gambhir has been a member of Penn's distinguished faculty since 1973. Prior to his time at Penn, Gambhir has also taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Cornell University. Gambhir received his PhD from Penn after completing his Masters from Delhi University in India.
