If you have ever been curious about the types of teaching and research positions departmental Graduate students move into once they complete their studies, this page focuses on the students who graduated in 2013-14, and highlights the universities and colleges they are now working in.  They are pursing exciting, rewarding research and teaching opportunism.

 

Steven Vose

Steven completed his dissertation titled “The Making of a Medieval Jain Monk: Language, Power, and Authority in the Works of Jinaprabhasuri (1261-1333)” and took up a tenure track post at Florida International University. He is currently the Bhagwan Mahavir Assistant Professor of Jain Studies and Director, Jain Studies Program in the Department of Religious Studies

 

David Buchta

David completed his PhD in Sanskrit, Classical Indian literary theory, Indian Philosophy, and Ancient and Medieval Hinduism in 2014.  He is now a Classics Lecturer with Brown University where he teaches elementary and intermediate Sanskirt, and courses on classical Sanskrit Story Literature and Grammatical Traditions.

 

Kathryn Hardy

Kathryn completed her dissertation titledThe Production of Cinema and the Production of Language in Post-Liberalization India” and went on to take up a Malathy Singh Post doctoral Associate position in the South Asian Studies Council at Yale University, as a lecturer in Anthropology.  From there she moved to Washington University in St. Louis as an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in the Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities. This is an interdisciplinary program for students seeking honors.
