Bio

Sajiwan Naicker is a Master’s student interested in Sanskrit literature and Indian philosophy. In Sanskrit literature, he is most intrigued by changing narratives through different time periods as well as the evolution of ideas, due to both internal and external forces. In regards to philosophy, during his undergraduate years, he researched overlapping ideas between Kautilya’s Arthashastra and Plato’s The Republic to understand the similarities and differences of their views of a perfect politic. During his time at UPenn, Sajiwan is focused on building his Sanskrit knowledge as well as understanding how Indian philosophy, both astika and nastika, can fit into the modern philosophical field.
