Bio
I am a first-year graduate student in the Department of South Asia Studies. My training has primarily been as a historian of pre-Sultanate South Asia, with much of my previous work focusing on the inscriptions as well as the ritual and mortuary landscapes of early historic north India and the Deccan. More recently, I have been interested in the medieval period and in south India. My tentative dissertation project explores the rural worlds of medieval south India, where I aim to engage with the rich archives of hero-stones and copper-plate charters.
Research Interests
Pre-Sultanate South Asia; epigraphy and material texts; writing and writing systems; early South Asian social history.
