Complete the preparation of three bibliographies for PhD Candidacy Examination and submit them, along with Candidacy Examination coversheet, to the department, by the end of the semester.

Complete 3000 word field statements on each of the three field bibliographies by the end of the semester. This constitutes the Candidacy Examination

Complete Dissertation Prospectus of 20-25 pages

The written Candidacy Examination and Dissertation Prospectus will be orally examined no later than mid-May of the Spring Semester

Summer

Preliminary PhD research, language study if necessary

Complete 6 CUs, 2 TAships and remaining language requirements.

Complete Candidacy Examination in three fields
