The research interests of the Faculty members of South Asia Studies department are vast and cover many periods, regions and cultures.
Each year faculty members from the South Asian Studies department supervise Penn students to complete a research project of their choice. Some students complete research projects in-country, and others choose projects which involve traveling to India for research purposes. Here, several previous students discuss their research projects, the most rewarding aspects of the research, and impact on their undergraduate experience. They go on to reflect on how the research and the skills from this will shape their post graduate plans. They conclude with some advice to others who are considering participating in research projects in the future.
